Why is it Dobrush district?

Dobrush district is located in the south-east of Belarus, within Gomel Polesye, on the border of three states. The district borders on Vetkovsky and Gomel districts of Gomel region, Novozybkovsky, Zlynkovsky and Klimovsky districts of Bryansk region of the Russian Federation, Gorodnyansky district of Chernigov region of the Ukraine. It was formed in 1926.

The area of the district is 1.5 thousand square km. and there are 85 settlements on the territory.

The population of the district is 36.7 thousand people, including the urban population - 22.4 thousand people, rural - 14.3 thousand people.

The region is agro-industrial. The most developed industries are paper, light, food, production of construction materials.

The basis of the region's economy is the processing industry: paper, light, food, production of building materials.
